Introducing... the diva Beyonce!

Beyonce's Story:

Beyonce is just 9 months old and has spent much of her short life growing up in a shelter in Romania.

There were 3 siblings, 2 named Beyonce, Adele and the 3rd one was lucky enough to be adopted directly from Romania.

We had a plea from a volunteer rescuer that had just been at the shelter stating that there were 2 pups there that were completely withdrawing into themselves and were starting to shut down. They were very worried that these 2 babies wouldn't survive the winter as they were already so frail, and temperatures had already dropped to -5 degrees. It usually gets to -20 during their winter months.

In the photos, Adele is attached to Beyonce's side. Over time though, these 2 girls have made many new friends and are no longer reliant on each other. They both now kennel share with different dogs and are settled and happy with their groups.

She has started enjoying strokes from staff and some volunteers and we are so proud of her for this. With time and understanding, Beyonce is going to thrive in a home.

Beyonce has never lived in a house before and so would require time, patience, understanding and lots of positive based training to help her learn the ropes of home life.

Bio:

With other dogs:

Beyonce loves playing out with the other pups and adult dogs however, she has shown signs of food and toy guarding so if she was to live with another dog, this would need to be very carefully managed. The dog would need to be of a similar or larger size than Beyonce.

When mixing Beyonce, she tends to be the weak one in the group and is always the dog that gets picked on so we have to be very careful about which dogs can mix with her as she quickly becomes very vulnerable.

With cats:

Walter is untested with cats therefore, she can not be rehomed with them. Due to the food & toy guarding, we wouldn't be able to guarantee that she wouldn't hurt a cat if food was involved.

Active energy

Beyonce is currently a very quiet pup as she doesn't yet have the confidence to be her true self. She loves playing out with her dog friends and currently shows moderate energy levels, this could increase though once she's settled into a home

0 -2 hrs to start

Beyonce has spent her life being surrounded by other dogs and so has never been left alone, completely by herself.

If she is adopted as an only dog, she will need a home where someone is around for most of the day and that can slowly build up her alone time to prevent creating separation anxiety and to show her that it is ok to be alone sometimes.

If she is adopted with another dog, she will be much more settled and could be left for a little longer.

Lead trained

Beyonce is not yet lead trained. She has only just started accepting strokes from staff and some volunteers and so lead training will come once she trusts her new family.

Training required

Beyonce has no form of basic training. This will all come in time once she has settled and learnt to fully trust her adopters
