Introducing.. gorgeous Gary!

Gary's Story:

Poor little Gary has had such a rough start to life.

At some point during his short life, he picked up a viral disease called Distemper. It attacks the nervous system and only 50% of dogs survive.

Gary was one of the lucky ones that pulled through however he has been left with a life long, and very noticeable twitch, in his back left leg.

He can be a little wobbly at times when walking but it doesn't let it affect him in the slightest and he is just the happiest, fluffy little dog that craves all the love and cuddles.

**Gary has been very poorly recently and is currently being treated for a disease called Hepatozoonosis. He is currently receiving medication and is already much brighter and active and fully has his appetite back.

For anyone that might be interested in adopting Gary, we will go in to much more detail with you about this disease that he could potentially carry lifelong. It could be cured but it could also just lay dormant forever. We will ensure that we get 2 negative tests done for the disease before we can see that he is no longer suffering from it.

Please note - Hepatozoonosis is not contagious to other dogs of people

With other dogs:

Gary had a bout of being been very ill whilst at the rescue and so, with all the care he was receiving, he has got very attached to his people and is not happy when any other dogs are around. He started to run at them and tell them to go away. Now that he is almost better, this reaction to other dogs has not improved.

For this reason, he can not be adopted into a home with current resident dogs. He may be able to make dog friends in the future as he was dog friendly before he had become poorly.

With cats:

Gary has been cat tested and is able to live with cats.
