Introducing... handsome Walter!
Walter's Story:
Are you looking for a little ball of energy to join your family and keep you constantly entertained? If so, look no further than Walter!
Walter is just 1 year old and was being held in a shelter in Romania as a young pup.
The winters over there are harsh, getting down to -20 degrees with little to no shelter and being fed the bare minimum in a very overcrowded shelter. The volunteer rescue workers were worried that Walter might not make it through the winter and so reached out to us for help.
We'd recently accepted 2 other pups from them and so agreed that he could kennel share with them, where we knew he would be safe.
Walter loves nothing more than to be with his people. If he could go all day attached to your side, he 100% would.
He has never lived in a home and so would require a lot of work but time, patience and lots of dedication will pay off and, in time, you will end up with a lovely well rounded dog.
Walter is going to need someone that is home for a majority of the day at least until he is ok being alone as he has never been alone before and we think it will be really scary for him.
This boy also has a lot of energy and is going to require a home where they can keep up with both physical and mental stimulation. Puppy classes / agility, anything like this is going to help this pup so much as he is still just a baby with a lot to learn and needs an outlet to focus all of his energy on.
Bio:

With other dogs:
Walter loves playing out with the other dogs, pups and adults but he can be very in their face and get quite rough with them. He has also showed signs of food guarding as he would've had to fight the other dogs for food in the shelter in Romania.
Due to being placed in a home already and being returned in less than a week due to a guarding incident with other dog, we are now looking to place Walter as an only dog.
He has so much to learn that it will also benefit him having all of the focus purely on him but he will love to have lots of doggy play dates and loves meeting dogs when out on walks.
With cats:
Walter has now been successfully cat tested. He was very gentle with the cat, showed no prey drive. The cat he was tested with is very confident with dogs but if a cat were to run away from Walter, a natural chase instinct may kick in. This isn't to say that he'd hurt a cat, just that he'd likely think it was a game and that's why the cat was running away. Interactions would need to be carefully managed until both cat and dog were comfortable around each other.
Active energy
Walter is a young boy with lots of energy. He will thrive in a home that can give him lots of physical and mental stimulation to keep him from being bored and getting into mischief.
0 -2 hrs to start
Walter is very people oriented and will require training to build up his time alone. To begin with, he will need to be left as little as possible. In his kennel, he cries a lot, he's just a baby though and getting minimum attention in a very busy kennel environment.
Lead trained
Walter has now started lead walking and is absolutely loving it.
He does however need a little work in the walking department as he does pull a lot, we think it's just pure excitement to be out of the kennels & he's very food orientated so we don't believe this will take too much work once he's settled in a home.
Training required
Walter has no form of basic training, this will all need to be built upon once he is settled into his forever home.
As he is just a baby and sadly growing up in kennels, he is missing out on important stages in his life and puppy / teenage dog classes will be a huge bonus to Walter and his new owner to work from the same page and a great way of building a bond too.
