Introducing.. Koda!

Koda's Story:

Koda [was Bob] is just a giant baby at only 1 year old.

He was rescued from a shelter in Romania where his chances of ever getting a loving home where almost zero.

Whilst in the shelter, he took solace with his sister Wendy but Wendy was given an opportunity to come to the UK and straight into foster via another charity so Koda was left behind in Romania missing his companion who he loved and trusted.

A few weeks later, Koda was also offered a space here in the UK with another rescue. Sadly, as Koda was already travelling, the other rescue backed out leaving this boy with absolutely nowhere to go. We got the call and took him in as an emergency. As fate would have it, Wendy's foster placement only lasted a few hours and they kicked her out so we'd also taken her in meaning that Wendy was already with us and waiting to be reunited with her best friend in the world. They were SO happy to see each other <3

Koda is a very shy boy and not yet ready for strokes however he loves his food and has no hesitation about running up to us and getting whatever tasty treats he can from us. We don't think he's too far off from having those first tickles from us but he gains a lot of his confidence from Wendy and being around other dogs.

With other dogs:

Koda has always lived around other dogs and we believe he would do best to live with another dog. Female and of similar size, or larger than Koda are the only dogs we could consider.

If Koa was to go as an only dog, progress regarding his confidence would be considerably slower. He really benefits from having another dog around him.

We've mixed him with dogs of all shapes and sizes, old and young, he has been great with all of them.

With cats:

Koda has not been tested with cats. Due to his nervous nature, there is currently no safe way of testing him at the moment.

Active energy

Koda has shown moderate energy levels since being with us but this could increase as he settles into a home

Time alone to be slowly built up

Koda has never lived in a home before. If he was to live with another dog, we believe he'd be ok to be left for 4-5 hours but any time where he will be by himself will need to be slowly built up over time

Lead trained

Koda is still too scared of us to attempt lead training

Training required

Koda has no form of basic training
